Old Airport

Liverpool Flying School has been based at Liverpool John Lennon Airport since the swinging sixties.

The school grew out of Liverpool Aero Club which was formed by Jim Keen in 1963, its first aeroplane being the then brand new Piper Colt. Since then the school has taught thousands of people to fly, with some going on to fly for the airlines while others fly for business purposes, or just for the fun of it.

Liverpool Flying School has owned over 40 different training aircraft and has a current membership of 250 pilots and trainees. It operates six aircraft from its site at hangar #4 on the Business Aviation Centre.
